Historically I've had no issues playing HD iTunes movies a my Mac Pro 5.1 with GTX 760 and Dell U2414H display.
It's been a while since I last watched a movie on my Mac so I don't know when the error first started but today I couldn't play any HD movies as I would get the "This movie cannot play on a monitor that doesn't support HDCP" message.
